Report
Late-night shows won't go live on midterm election night for first time since 2002
NBC will replace Fallon and Meyers with live election coverage, while ABC will air a new Kimmel episode.
TLDR
NBC will preempt “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on November 3 for live election results. “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will tape later than usual to react to early East Coast returns but won't air live on the West Coast for final results. “The Daily Show” will air a new episode that will likely tape before New York polls close. In 2022, only Colbert and Kimmel aired live election-night shows.
