Ben Affleck's 'Animals' Thriller Nears Oct 9 Theatrical and Netflix Release
Animals, directed by and starring Ben Affleck with Kerry Washington, held red carpet and premiere events ahead of its Oct 9 select theatrical and Netflix release date.
TLDR
The release exemplifies the hybrid theatrical-streaming model for prestige content, with Affleck's star power and directing involvement driving press attention. The timing signals Netflix's strategy of pairing theatrical with simultaneous or near-simultaneous streaming availability.
