The Hollywood Reporter reports that Sony Pictures and director Sam Mendes have discussed releasing all four Beatles biopics on the same day. The idea is not final: producer Pippa Harris has publicly described the broader goal as putting the films in cinemas during the same period, which could also mean one film per week or separate weekends within a month.
One total instead of four tallies
Sony and the filmmakers are also considering combining the four movies’ box-office returns rather than announcing an individual gross for each. That would reduce the inevitable comparison of which Beatle’s film sold the most tickets, although THR notes that per-film sales would probably still emerge from independent sources.
That sensitivity has some real-world context. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have both provided feedback on the scripts and met the actors playing them.
Four tickets, no required order
A four-ticket bundle is another option under discussion, intended to encourage moviegoers to see the complete set. How it would work is unclear, because major cinema chains would likely need to support the unusual purchase.
If the films arrive in the same week, the marketing could also emphasize that there is no required viewing order. Paul Mescal plays McCartney, Harris Dickinson plays John Lennon, Joseph Quinn plays George Harrison and Barry Keoghan plays Starr. The films are slated for April 2028, but the release plans remain fluid and Sony declined to comment to THR.
