RSS Question for Digg Users: Where should feed items link by default?
Quick question for folks using RSS readers with Digg community feeds.
Right now there are two equally valid ways an RSS item can behave:
Option A: External-first (classic RSS)
Tapping an item opens the linked article/video directly (fast reading).
A “Discuss on Digg” link is included for comments and +1s.
Option B: Digg-first (engagement-first)
Tapping an item always opens the Digg post.
The original article/video is linked inside the post.
Both have trade-offs:
External-first is faster for readers.
Digg-first makes it easier to comment and participate.
If you use RSS with Digg feeds, which would you prefer as the default behavior?
Poll-style answers in comments are totally fine:
A: “External-first”
B: “Digg-first”
C: “Offer both / let users choose”
This will directly influence how the feeds behave going forward.
Thank you :)
