The block feature is one of the most Reddity features Digg could have implemented
I am opposed to blocking in general and believe they should be replaced with mutes. If you don't like what someone says, mute them so that others can continue the discourse. However, if a block feature absolutely must exist, it should not prevent interactions with content which the blocker has recently interacted with themselves. This would prevent hit-and-run blocking where users respond to a user and the summarily block them. I should be able to respond to that user and continue the discourse with others in that comment branch.
This is a social media platform. Why would anyone post in the public square and only want to engage with those they agree with?
