[UX comment] - user profile navigation

I usually start my digg recap by looking at my user profile and then going through comments and posts I've made.

I've noticed a weird navigation experience when browsing from my user profile actions...

For example:

• I list my comments

• I click on a comment

• it takes me to the comment and then I either

  • click on the internal back button (not browser back button)

    • first time: takes me to and undefined and then returns to the post I had commented on

    • second time: takes me to my profile, but showing posts now instead of comments, and is also at the top of posts and comments

  • click on the browser back button

    • experience as in "second time" above

I've often been confused by the history stack that the internal back button uses vs the browser back button, or if they are intended to be the same. My intuition at times doesn't seem to match the design intuition.

In the above example, the expected behavior (for me at least) would be to go back to the comment that was clicked previously.
