Intended behavior? Blocking someone prevents them from further participating in a top level post they've made

User made a post, then proceeded to whine in a comment about getting buried for "having opinions"

I called them out for said whining, they blocked me, and now I can no longer see the post or participate in the comments of that post.

Is this intentional? Seems pretty heavy handed to allow a user to decide which posts you're allowed to participate in.

Would make more sense to me if it just hides my posts/comments from the user, not the other way around.
