The new webinterface is... challanging to navigate
I'm almost certain I will get a boatload of hate for this, but here goes... I am no UI/UX designer, and I never will be. Having said that, I feel this new interface is a step back from the previous. For me the following doesn't feel natural at all:
1. Profile, notifications and create post at the bottom. The ' create post' is redundant, since it also lives at the top. Then there is the profile and notifications buttons. These should be on the top of the page as well, attention is never drawn to the bottom of the page.
2. On the community page there is a huge space thats been taken up by a small profile picture and a header picture. The header picture can easily be cut in half. There is no reason why the community information is being shoved this far down. Again, important information should be more at the top of a page rather than towards the bottom.
3. Communities on the left is nice, but I would prefer it if the labels were next to them, so that I instantly can see what the community is about. The thumbnail itself is not quite enough.
4. The discover communities pages is a nightmare to navigate, it's an endless scrolling feed with very little information. In this case the thumbnail with a description to the right of the thumbnail would improve the information density. Maybe even an A-Z slider to easily go through the alphabet if you somewhat know what you are looking for.
5. The limited width of all pages on the desktop is feels very claustrophobic. Content doesn't really feel alive with so much free space on either side.
Funnily enough, even though I barely use the mobile app, since I despise browsing stuff on small screens. The mobile experience is a lot more polished in my mind.
Just my two cents. :)
