I’m trying to get two subs off the ground and . Looking for tips in terms of community growth. With exception of organic growth from people just searching for the topics, are there any other recommended activities or methods?
My advice is to keep nurturing your community. Make at least one authentic post per day, and take the time to comment on posts and engage in conversations with your members. In I take time each day to reflect and pick a song to post, a song that means something to me and has a story for me behind it. Also, it’s helpful to ask leading questions. For example, asking members what their thoughts are on the song or other questions. I’m not just looking for people to post songs in my community, I want to engage and have discussions with people that share my passion for the genre.
Same with . I’ve taken an even more personal approach and my welcome post is an album of pics I took at Tampa Pro so people can get to know the mod behind-the-scenes. My aspirations for include people posting their own pictures and skate footage (Digg has confirmed video uploads are in the pipeline!). A bit scary putting myself out there on that sub as I’m usually a pretty private person, but it’s been kinda fun opening up. I wanna post footage of my mediocre skating skills so I have to put my face out there eventually anyway. Would be cool to also have skatepark meetups in the future.
Overall, be authentic and keep nurturing your community, the people will come!
Damnnn, you were dropping hammers! I’m not on that skill level yet, and likewise, I’m old and have to limit myself a bit in stuff I try. Thanks for joining <3!
