Digg.com performance

Digg.com performance has taken a nosedive- slow to navigate, lots of stuttering when scrolling. I understand it's beta, but it seems to be moving in the wrong direction. I think most of us would prefer a classic old-web style website instead of this modern, resource heavy type of interface that every site seems to be using.
