It's almost Halloween, and if you're struggling for a costume idea this year, maybe this ranking of the most popular costumes in the US can help.

Using Google's Frightgeist search trend data, Visual Capitalist ranked the Halloween costumes Americans are searching for most this year, and visualized them in the cute little graphic below.

Key Findings:

• Perhaps unsurprisingly, the wildly successful "Barbie" movie's titular character is who Americans most want to dress up as this year. According to Google data reveals, Barbie was searched for the most in Quincy, Illinois-Hannibal, Missouri-Keokuk, Iowa.

• The second-most popular costume this Halloween is a princess character, from no particular film or franchise. Based on searches, Alpena, Michigan, will likely see the most princesses this Halloween.

• In third place is everyone's (apparent) favorite superhero, Spider-Man, with trick-or-treaters in Laredo, Texas, most interested in donning the morph suit.
