The US ranks just 19th on the 2021 World Giving Index, dropping several spots after years topping the list of the world's most generous countries.
But how do America's states compare with each other when it comes to generosity? Comparing them on factors such as volunteer rate and the share of sheltered homeless, WalletHub has ranked and mapped all 50 states from most to least charitable.
