Over on Reddit, Bloomberg Opinion shared the below chart, based on CreditCards.com and Bankrate data, that shows the percentage of Americans that always tip for various services.

According to the visualization, Americans are less willing to tip in 2023 than they were the previous two years. Restaurants remain the place where the most people will leave a tip, while hotel housekeepers and coffee shop baristas are among the workers least likely to receive a little extra for their service.

Tipping for take out is a hard no. Never gonna happen. You do take out vs delivery to ensure your food is fresher and that you don't have to tip. If you request a standard coffee at a coffee shop, tipping is also a hard no. Same for hotel housekeepers.

You ever had your food packed poorly? I think it’s worth something, not 20%, but if someone does their job well that makes it easier for me to enjoy my time, its worth it.

You only find out later if the food was packed correctly though. Do you tip next time you go there?
