Dachshund Back Problems

Dachshunds are known for their back problems. Even though you try to protect and prevent them from jumping, they will have an issue at some point in their life.

We’ve had four Dachshunds over the past 25 years and two had IVDD that required surgery on one or more ruptured discs.

Both recovered and were able to walk and run again. Our latest Zoey had surgery August 2025.
