Okunoin Cemetery 🇯🇵 奥の院墓地

Just wanted to share a photo I took of a doll at the Okunoin Cemetery, located in Koya 🇯🇵 (Wakayama Prefecture). This cemetery is where spiritually (not physically) a lot of Japan's greatest Rulers and Warlords were buried. While doing a tour with local Monks late at night, I noticed this doll tucked away just off the main path, and when I pointed it out, two of the Monks looked visibly distressed. Apparently, someone was leaving these dolls in the same place for months and they thought the person(s) stopped until I showed them.

To this day, that look I saw in those Monks still kinda irks me 🎎 ~
