Hi /Comicbook digg! A quick update from your moderator (AMA)
As /comicbooks nears 150 members (woo!), I figure it was time for a quick check in. First off, the about section has been updated with an approximation of what you can expect to find here for now. As for the rules? Well, I figure we’ll update those as we go.
Second, for those of you wondering “who is this dude, and why should he get to run this awesome, coveted (probably) digg community?” That’s fair, thus see list below. Also, feel free to ask me anything!
’s Moderator Qualifications:
Formerly managed a comic book shop
Journalist, with decades spent covering comics, tech, & social media. (Geekjournalist.com even forwards to one of my old portfolios, ha.)
O.G. Digg user; founding /r/comicbooks reddit contributor
Hung out with and geeked out over comics (while sipping Swedish beer, once upon a time)
My copy of ‘Captain America: The Chosen’ issue #6 by cover artist Mitch Breitweiser is still among my most prized possessions (IYKYK; )
Cohosted a digg community podcast (that lasted way longer than digg 1.0!)
Avid reader of both digital comics and print editions.
Proud owner of a digg t-shirt.
Finally, I’m extremely passionate about digg’s deterministic social web mission, almost as much as I am about comics! I’ve had the opportunity as a reporter to cover some of Kevin and Alexis’ earliest successes. And now, with what and team have managed to accomplish? It’s a dream come true, and at the exact moment needed in my opinion.
