Mets land Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta in huge move (source)
The Mets have addressed their starting rotation issue by acquiring Brewers ace Freddy Peralta and right-handed swingman Tobias Myers. Peralta, a 29-year-old two-time All-Star, brings a 2.70 ERA from last season and a devastating slider, while Myers offers a 3.15 ERA over 31 starts and 18 relief appearances. The trade cost the Mets their No. 3 prospect Jett Williams and No. 5 prospect Brandon Sproat, but Peralta's skill set and reasonable monetary cost made him an attractive addition. The Mets' rotation now includes Peralta, Nolan McLean, Sean Manaea, Clay Holmes, Kodai Senga, and David Peterson, with Peralta and McLean expected to share the ace role.
