Canadian biometric authentication standards input welcomed
Canada's "Digital Governance Standards Institute" announced a public review period for proposed biometric authentication standards.
The standards document under review is called "CAN/DGSI 120: Use of Biometrics for Authentication".
It is a "National Standard of Canada that establishes minimum requirements for the responsible use of biometric technologies for authentication purposes".
The review period is scheduled for Jan 7 to Mar 9, 2026.
My comment: The doc sets forth a set of principles that seem worth scrutinizing for people interested in biometrics. If you've got comments, Canada appears open to receiving them.
