Highly sensitive Australian court data accessed by foreign entity based in India
Highly sensitive Australian court files have been accessed by foreign actors in breach of the federal law and Commonwealth contractual obligations.
An ABC investigation has revealed that highly sensitive Australian court files were accessed by foreign actors in breach of privacy laws and Commonwealth contractual obligations. VIQ Solutions, a Canadian company responsible for transcribing court cases, subcontracted work to e24 Technologies, an Indian company, without notifying the courts. This has raised concerns about national security risks, as the court files include sensitive information such as links to international criminal organizations and potential foreign interference in Australia.
