Minor to moderate Flood Warnings and Flood Watches are current across northern Australia today due to recent and expected rainfall over the coming days.
Some of the highest Queensland rainfall observed in the 24 hours to 9am Tuesday AEST include:
• 183mm at Forbes Road, Qld
• 180mm at Stafford Crossing, Qld
• 136mm at Koonandah, Qld
Some of the highest Western Australian rainfall observed in the 22 hours to 7am Tuesday AWST include:
• 126mm at Broome Airport, WA
• 68mm at Dampier Downs Airstrip, WA
• 60mm at Kilto Station, WA
Showers, rain and thunderstorms will continue over the coming days across northern Australia. Moderate to heavy falls are possible, as well as severe thunderstorms.
Catchments are wet and swollen, leading to an increased risk of flash and riverine flooding.
