Upgrade Path Help/Suggestions
I give up, this hobby is nuts!, So I made a mistake, I started out buying Sonos gear because it was an easy entry point. Now I have the Arc, Sub Mini, and two Era 300 that works fine for tv viewing. Music wise I hate it!
I also ended up purchasing a Victrola Stream Onyx record player (https://www.victrola.com/products/victrola-stream-onyx-works-with-sonos-turntable), but this sounds horrible with Sonos, the lag, the "clean up", It sounds as if I was just streaming music and not really playing a record. But trying to move away from this has been though! I tried using a pair of Edifier R1280T (https://www.edifier.com/global/p/bookshelf-speakers/r1280t) but those speakers are ok, but not great.
So my end goal will mainly center around the Technics SL-1200 (https://www.technics.com/global/home/sl1200/) Why? I just love the looks of it and at that price and based on reviews this is an excellent player. But it seems my screw up has made it so I can't slowly upgrade anything. The Victrola has a phono preamp built in, but I don't want to waste money on powered speakers when I want passive speakers at the end. But I can't buy an amp because I don't have speakers for it, and I can't buy speakers because I don't have an amp. So it looks like I have to spend a lot of money on both at the same time?
I am thinking of getting the Cambridge Audio AXA35 (https://www.cambridgeaudio.com/usa/en/products/hi-fi/ax/axa35) with a pair of DALI KUPID Premium Compact Passive Hi-Fi Bookshelf Speakers (https://www.dali-speakers.com/en-us/products/kupid/kupid/?sku=200328)? That seems to be the cheapest good option I can go with so that I can get a preamp later when I get the Technics and then I could buy better speakers? I am really trying to get a pair of JBL L100 Classic MkII (https://www.jbl.com/L100-MK2.html) at some point also.
I NEED HELP!
What would you do???
