Thüringen: Versteinertes Gewölle verrät Speiseplan eines Urzeit-Raubtiers
290 Millionen Jahre altes Regurgitat eines Fleischfressers gibt einzigartige Einblicke - scinexx.de
In Thuringia, paleontologists have discovered the fossilized regurgitation of a 290-million-year-old ancient predator, providing unique insights into the diet of the top predators of that era. The fossil, found in the Bromacker fossil site, contains bones of three different prey animals, including a larger herbivore. The predator was likely a Dimetrodon or a varan-like mammal ancestor. This discovery offers a rare glimpse into the dietary habits of ancient carnivorous synapsids, which were the top predators in the region around 300 million years ago.
