Anyone else having Airpod auto-connect issues?

I have a pair of AirPod Max's that constantly auto-connect to my iPhone even when I have it set to connect only when last connected to my iPhone and it's actively connected to my Mac. Every so often, I'll be in a meeting with the Maxs on and they'll randomly disconnect and reconnect to my iPhone.
