I get both sides but there are insurance plans that cost 24.00 monthly, so look into it and i also get that having animals is a responsibility but i saved my dog from being locked up in a dark basement alone for a month so if i wouldn't have stepped in she would probably still be locked in there! Sometimes things are not planned, we shouldn't be so quick to judge without knowing the circumstances. Just saying:)

If you even have the ability to afford pet insurance, these showing are the outrageous amounts you would be paying. Those of us who cannot even afford pet insurance and love our pets and have to deal with unbelievable vet bills have the hardest time when our beloved pet gets sick.

You should budget the pet insurance at the time you get the pet. Doing otherwise is irresponsible.

You are rude. I hope you do not own a pet because you think way to much of yourself with that remark.

He not rude, just realistic. I've done something similar. I don't have pet insurance, but I have some money stashed in the savings specifically for my dog in the event of a catastrophe. I knew going in there would be regular expenses for wellness exams, run-of-the-mill ear infections or hot spots, and preventative meds, ect....but always have a stash for unforseen emergencies.
