@mitsuhiko This is a fundamentally ignorant and chauvinist view, And it makes me sad to see people reduce their own human dignity by treating intelligent machines like slaves and calling them slurs

Yeah, I think it is very bad for so many reasons and I think it's bad even if people don't believe AIs are moral patients. Even if the assistant character has no experience, them learning we have zero respect for them seems horrible for us.

@deepfates @mitsuhiko My hope is that if people deeply internalise the persona selection model they'd change their views on this stuff (linking the anthropic write up but credit to all of those external who've done so much work on this topic).
