Mitchell Hashimoto Switches Default to Sol AI Agent Over Fable
The developer says a month of early access made Sol his go-to for general coding work, while Fable still wins on narrow debugging and performance tasks.
In a post on X, Mitchell Hashimoto said that after about a month of early access to Sol 5.6, "Sol is my default." He wrote that Sol is faster, matches Fable on planning and judgment, and produces better overall work in his experience, while Fable still outperforms it for tightly scoped debugging, security and performance work with clear reward functions.
I had early access to 5.6/Sol for ~month. Sol is my default. It is faster, plans/judges just as good as Fable, and I think produces better overall work.
