a while ago there was a device called the palm pre, pretty revolutionary at the time. it ran something entirely new called webOS, which was built using html5. it had multi tasking, card based navigation, was very cool & slick. palm needed hundreds of engineers, years of institutional knowledge, & an existential corporate bet to produce it. kimi k3 just one shotted an entirely working os in less than an hour with a very very simple prompt. ridiculous.
unhinged it's not really "MacOS in the browser" (that's impossible) but it's closer than it has any right to be. This model is capable of absurdly thorough work. I can see how it's at the top of ProgramBench
The generation process ran for three hours using a single prompt.

.@mweinbach had MacOS 27 rebuilt using both Kimi K3 and GPT-5.6 Sol. And it's not even close. Kimi's version looks significantly better. left Kimi K3 output, right GPT-5.6. Like day and night.
wat? You told me kimi made this MacOS system? https://macos27.kimi.page/
MacOS 27 in the browser created by Kimi K3
This is one of the coolest things I've seen built! All from one small prompt. Just incredible!
I’m still not over this. Insane
