I was reading an article about how the opinions of the general public on AI differ across countries.. while western countries including eu and USA are anti-AI and see it as a bad thing, countries like China do not.. couldnt understand what drives this difference.. maybe politics shaping the view early on..
sorry it was too vague. i meant how many AI folks (esp. those in bay area) tend to belittle anything that's not directly AI (e.g. oh drug discovery? don't worry we'll build AGI that solves drug discovery.) unsurprisingly, this alienates and enrages a lot of people (even inc. me here and there.)
so sad a lot if us (inc me and my friends) in AI have lost the ability nor desire to hear ourselves talk and to listen to others. a good podcast interview today of jasmin sun
