Microsoft's new "Foundry" product helped kick off a wider X argument about AI sovereignty. In a post on X, Chamath Palihapitiya said Alex Karp "may have initiated an important preference cascade around AI sovereignty," then pointed to Marc Benioff's X post about zero data retention and Satya Nadella's linked essay on X as part of the same shift: companies should treat their knowledge as a strategic asset they cannot casually hand to outside AI providers.
