Brian Roemmele stated he has been running an open source AI platform simulating over 8 billion people simultaneously. He called the development massive and referenced his earlier writing on a China simulation of 1 billion people. Separate posts attribute an 8.3 billion persona project called MatrAIx to Harvard and MIT researchers using models such as GPT and Claude.
