Major websites block or restrict autonomous AI agents
The Verge reports Yelp requires paid data licenses for agents, while Delta prevents them from booking tickets.
TLDR
The Verge reports that users of Meta’s Muse, xAI’s Grok, OpenAI’s Dots and Instinct have encountered blocks on major websites. It says Yelp told TechCrunch it allows only agents paying for its data licensing program, Delta prevents agent ticket bookings, and JPMorgan Chase and Charles Schwab confirmed account-access blocks over security concerns. The Verge also notes that Amazon previously banned Perplexity’s shopping agent.
