Campfire rewrite gets a separate verification and benchmarking project

A developer working on the Campfire rewrite says he reviewed submitted pull requests, verified the work and merged what was ready. He then asked for architectural improvements to be brought to each implementation and says C is now in the lead. He also says he extracted a separate project to benchmark and check implementations and their improvements, with a report from the latest runs.
