Broadcom reportedly seeks more than $50 billion in financing for OpenAI’s custom AI chip

The Kobeissi Letter, citing WSJ, reports that Broadcom is seeking more than $50 billion in financing for a custom AI chip it is developing with OpenAI. Broadcom has reportedly talked with Apollo and Blackstone about participating. The financing is intended to bridge the gap between Oracle’s hardware payments and its cloud computing revenue.
