Steven Sinofsky and Guillaume Verdon argue breaking up Apple would raise consumer costs, disputing Ocasio-Cortez's antitrust proposal

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for Apple to be broken up this morning over the $200 hardware price increases, she said that by paying the increased prices consumers are being forced to subsidize the development of new datacenters.

What would you break them into???

Let’s say she breaks it up into Apple Hardware and Apple App Store, I sorta get that (but it’s a bad idea)

But then Apple hardware still has to buy DRAM at market prices!

How does it help consumers?

She just wants Apple to be a smaller company because we’ll just because. Her not knowing anything about how scale works this would only make phones more expensive, have less stuff, and less customer service. 🙄

Every day I am more surprised that the tech right has no idea what complex systems are, what scale does to market structure, or why networks are not like normal commodity markets once distribution is global.
