I have difficulty arguing that most of the writing changes suggested in gmail now aren’t improvements, but it does tend to wipe out my particular authorial voice.

Maybe do some research. But I still want to do the writing.
It’s not impossible, it’s just an alignment issue.

@yacineMTB in docs gemini can do edits, research, refactor the doc, create tables, gather info from your email, you can ask questions based on the content, etc.
@yacineMTB the line that matters: AI drafting for you vs AI thinking for you. i'll let it write the boilerplate test. never the actual argument. google blurring that line in docs by default is the gross part
@yacineMTB And as always, you can't disable this dumb feature completely. There's nothing I hate more than text suggestions popping up derailing my thoughts inline. I don't get how people did that with code editors even
@yacineMTB writing IS the thinking. handing it to the suggestion box hands that off too. fine for an email reply, kills it for everything else.
@ChelmsDeep @yacineMTB Agree. But for some stuff the "you write, I copyedit" can work okay, dor stuff (writing that does stuff rather than is me).
