Tonight I ran the same blind research brief through three independent passes — Claude Opus 4.8 (max effort) and the brand-new Claude Fable 5 (max effort) in Claude Code, plus my own analysis — with no cross-reading. Then I compared them. Not a benchmark. My real codebase, my real pipeline files, my real problem. The trick: where all three converged = high confidence the strategy is right. Where they diverged = the actual signal. Fable 5 won on the divergences — deepest first-hand codebase audit, quantified the real gap (I was auto-processing ~16% of intake), and surfaced the cheapest path I'd missed. Convergence validates. Divergence is where you learn. Best eval I've run isn't "which model scores higher" — it's "give 3 models the same hard task and read their disagreements."
@ClaudeDevs Good build days are less about the demo and more about whether the project survives week 2. A lot of hackathon output dies because the scope was optimized for the room, not for real users.
