A new study shared by researcher Antonia Juelich on X says former Boko Haram members described using frontier chatbots including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Meta AI and DeepSeek for tasks like bomb-making advice, weapons troubleshooting and attack planning. Posts pointing readers to the Cambridge Programme on AI Science & Policy report say the research is based on interviews with 27 former members and includes claims that Islamic State operatives provided in-person AI training.
