OpenAI introduces remote connection support in Codex desktop app for Mac control

0

OpenAI introduced remote connection support in the Codex desktop app. This enables control of a Mac from the ChatGPT mobile app after enabling remote access on the desktop while keeping the Mac powered on and awake. The setup allows users to maintain desktop coding sessions without being physically present. One report confirmed a successful connection to a closed MacBook Pro using the feature.

This is crazy. My MacBook Pro is closed at home and shouldn’t be on, but I just connected to Codex and am able to code and access my laptop from my phone. Maybe it’s because I enabled computer use? Whatever it is thank you @sama I love it.

Keep your Mac awake so you can build and work from your phone, with Codex in the ChatGPT app:

Your Mac can hold down the fort while you work from your phone. Enable remote connection in the Codex desktop app, then turn on “Keep this Mac awake.” When your Mac is powered on and plugged in, Codex can keep running there while you work from the ChatGPT mobile app.
