Trail of Bits Releases AI Agent Plugins for Code Patching and Regression Detection

Trail of Bits says it built patching-bugs after analyzing thousands of Codex sessions from its Patch the Planet work with OpenAI. The plugin checks that the original code fails, the patch passes and reverting the patch brings the bug back, then passes fixes to regression-hunt. Trail of Bits says regression-hunt produced 25% fewer false positives than a baseline Codex agent on patches behind 21 known regressions. A separate post says some known regressions were missed.
