“AI is one of the primary drivers of both the acceleration in solo business formation and the outsized performance of solopreneurs in recent years.”
Our mission at Replit is becoming more real by the day.

@patrickc My Stripe-powered solo company (https://conductor.is) now does $31K MRR ($373K ARR). Completely runs itself. I just file the taxes.
Age of autonomous software systems.

@pirroh @replit @replitsupport @amasad CATASTROPHIC EMERGENCY. An overnight account ban completely wiped live medical databases. Real doctors have lost access to real-time clinical files & patient records. Medical services are down. We need immediate admin escalation. NO ANSWER ANYWHERE

@RuxandraTeslo It's a great company.

@patrickc @jeff_weinstein Holding everyone's money for ages to look better on paper scammers.

@patrickc

@pirroh the rise of solopreneurs is happening now thanks to ai and that’s a slay

@patrickc “We believe AI is lowering barriers to business formation and growth by expanding the capabilities of solopreneurs, further improving tools and platforms that cater to new businesses, and creating a new set of opportunities for entrepreneurs to pursue.”
Absolutely 💯

@patrickc AI didn’t just lower the barrier to entry. It lowered the need for an army.

@RuxandraTeslo Why are very few billionaires doing this kind of thing?

@patrickc @daniel_nguyenx look ma, I'm mainstream now

@patrickc the age of the solopreneur...
powered by an army of AI coworkers

@patrickc @ernietedeschi Ick we don’t need a new and clunky portmanteau for sole trader

@patrickc It makes sense with how easy it is now to monetize niche skills online. Curious how that shifts the labor market long term.

@patrickc The hard part may become less about starting solo, and more about knowing when not to stay solo.

@patrickc The AI age has been more empowering for solopreneurs than ever before. Especially for introverts that prefer being solo, having a fleet of 100+ agents gives you the same abilities as having an entire company.

@patrickc More and more solopreneurs armed with open source will join the list. This number will 10x in 5 years.

The report counts a business as formed once there's a filing with the state and the IRS. But a lot of the people in that data are earning on Stripe well before any of that exists. They incorporate later, or they don't get to it until a customer or an accountant makes them. A few years ago that meant a lawyer and a couple grand.
That's what we built Founders Form AI to do. You tell it what you're building and it handles the entity and the filings in the right order, ready for a real attorney to sign off, so the legal side isn't sitting a year behind your revenue.

@patrickc would also love to have a pic about share of different levels of income among solopreneurs

when human labor / execution is no longer the constraint, the curation of meaningful ideas is even more important.
if we have a magic genie that can fulfill our wishes, the most important question is, “what should we ask for?”
we need a better collective measure of value to guide humanity toward the greatest collective enlightenment.
in the short term, I’m predicting that we’ll see a trend toward shared ownership, creative collaboration, and profit sharing.
