The persistent memory behavior did not affect Claude Code.

Super weird thing about Fable is that it keeps learning about me even with memories and personalization turned off. The thinking traces are full of references to my preferences. Some of it is little notes it writes in various .md files, but maybe it is leaking from elsewhere.

Deleting this because I found I had left a setting on Claude Code allowing writing to memory files on one of my computers, so I am not sure where this all crept in, but it might be my fault!
The claude code harness writes a bunch of memories to invisible folders by default. Totally unclear Why they've chosen to disregard all my preferences and... build. Oh, wait, no, it's because Claude is building this and nobody gives a fuck or looks at the code

Not to excuse myself but for both OpenAI and Claude, what settings are global, which ones apply to local machines, and which apply to web and local are all a bit confusing.

@deepfates It’s worse than it being the default - I tell it not to do it in claude.md and it does anyway…

Apparently this does not have any effect on Claude Code, despite the interface increasingly being unified / it all being "chat" like
