Wait. What. 1GW IDC for Zhipu alone?! This is ahead of my timeline. This is safely enough to build a "mythos" assuming some workable (even H800-level) chips. But what does it mean "partially operating"? Do they have a million chips colocated or not?! Crazy stuff

@zephyr_z9 Is there really any point beyond some logistical tradeoffs to build a 1M chip hub for inference alone instead of 10-100 small clusters Land isn't as troublesome in Chyna and I guess grid/cooling issues might get worse at this scale
meanwhile the main eu cluster has been intently powercapped (officially for environmental reasons but i think it’s just german energy crisis)

Germons could probably just ship their chips to China under some compute-sharing license and get more FLOPs for cheaper and faster. Shangdi knows there won't be "environmental" power caps or construction delays in Ulanqab. (yeah, impossible)
