Coatue projects fivefold rise in AI memory demand

0

Coatue released its Public Markets Update on May 6 2026. The report identifies memory demand as the leading constraint in the AI infrastructure buildout and projects that demand will grow fivefold within five years. It tracks the bottleneck shift from GPUs to power supply where the gigawatt becomes the basic unit of growth. The update also reviews strength in memory optical parts and CPUs along with supply chain pressures that redirect cash flows from hyperscalers to equipment providers. Jaimin Rangwalla CIO of Public Investments at Coatue presented the analysis.
