    TLDR

Taylor Lorenz retweeted a message from user c_a_dunlop. That message claims some writers value help from large language models for their blog posts. It asserts readers dislike the resulting content. A survey is cited in support of the point about developer reactions to AI-generated blogs. The post mentions reader suspicion toward such material. No other sources confirm the survey findings or expand on the claim among visible replies. The retweet comes from Lorenz who works as an independent journalist covering online culture and technology.

@GergelyOroszWhen it comes to writing w AI, there’s such a cognitive dissonance between the person writing it+ those reading it. Those writing: “AI saves so much effort! And wow it’s better than what I have written! People will think I’m so articulated.” Those reading: “WTH is this AI slop”
@xlr8harderThis tracks with what I was saying recently. Today, LLM voice signals low quality. First impressions matter, so if you're communicating something you care about (and if you're not, why are you doing it in the first place?) you should be intentional about this.

@andrewwhite01Everyone goes through AI psychosis once where you heavily using AI. Then (hopefully) you become enlightened and don't use it for writing/creative work. But it's hard to tell when someone sends work without slop if they're pre-psychosis or post-enlightenment.
@joaneleanor_Good explanation by Charlie. Someday, we may indeed want to turn over writing to the AIs. But right now, even mild editing does enough to render the writing unrecognizable by Pangram, and LLMs need *much* more than mild editing to turn out anything truly worthwhile. If you're going to use AIs for your writing, you owe your audience the due diligence of a solid once (realistically, thrice) over.

@paulgAI will be especially fatal to writing that takes too long to get to the point. Now there will always be a more concise alternative, and 99% of readers will choose it.
@dnlklrim really feeling the ai psychosis this lovely morning
@sushntevery day I feel like shouting into the void: if you wish to be known as a professional of high taste, do not post AI slop the game is long, and you risk your reputation sinking rapidly amongst the people who matter. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
