Interintellect organizes AI human agency event in San Francisco

0

Anna Gát organized the Interintellect event titled AI, Human Agency, and the Future of a Free Society in San Francisco with the Foundation for Economic Education. The program featured discussions on why AI remains harder to forecast than the internet, emerging cultural practices, tensions between the Age of Reason and Romanticism, and methods for preserving human agency. It closed with a debate between Noahpinion and Sonja Trauss on prospects for an abundant AI-driven future, moderated by the FEE president.

Few snippets from “AI, Human Agency, and the Future of a Free Society” w/ @interintellect_ @TheAnnaGat Some questions I’ve been thinking about post: - “The least theorised & least predicted technology was the internet. The most theorised & most predicted technology is AI.” Yet why are we so uncertain where this goes? - What are the new cultural practises, rituals we can build? - Are we in a tension between the Age of Reason and the Age of Romanticism? - What other forms/mediums of consumption will emerge (like reading) that include friction which helps with retention? - What can you actually do with AI that you can’t with humans? @elidourado @nayafia @krishnanrohit @lstmaximalist
