A developer working on OC says synchronous database access was fine when the agent reported through Slack or iMessage, but is limiting when one agent might run 50 sessions in parallel and the whole team works on it. In a September 26, 2026 update, they said work with Astra had landed 575 pull requests so far toward moving everything to asynchronous workers. The developer said the team is shipping improvements as the refactor progresses.
