    TLDR

Rohan Paul, a Bengaluru based machine learning engineer, Kaggle Master, YouTuber and writer of a daily AI newsletter, posted a note citing a Wall Street Journal report. The post states that Anthropic sealed a 35 B cloud deal with Nvidia backed Lambda. Lambda will rent the Texas capacity to Anthropic while infrastructure company Hut 8 builds the Nueces County facility and Nvidia holds the lease. The arrangement lets Lambda provide Nvidia GPU cloud capacity without procuring the data center space. The tweet also includes a generated headline reading Anthropic Signs 35 Billion Cloud Deal With Nvidia. The packet contains no further confirmation from other sources.

@rohanpaul_aiWSJ: Anthropic just sealed $35 B cloud deal with Nvidia-backed Lambda. Lambda will rent the Texas capacity to Anthropic, while infrastructure company Hut 8 builds the Nueces County facility and Nvidia holds the lease. The arrangement lets Lambda provide Nvidia GPU cloud capacity without procuring the data-center space itself, while Nvidia sells the hardware and reportedly holds the underlying lease. Hut 8's SEC filings independently confirm that its Beacon Point campus has 704MW of contracted IT capacity under two 15-year leases worth $19.6B during their base terms.
@kimmonismusAnthropic has signed a $35 billion cloud deal with Nvidia-backed Lambda, and Nvidia itself will hold the lease on the Texas data center. Hut 8 is building the site. Lambda will install Nvidia chips, while Nvidia has already secured the capacity and invested in Lambda. Earlier in August, it reportedly signed another $45 billion capacity deal with Nvidia-backed Nscale. That is $80 billion in reported cloud commitments in a single month. Lets hope that means more inference and higher weekly rates. (one can dream, right?)
