Thinking Machines Lab in talks for $40b valuation round

Stephanie Palazzolo posted that Mira Murati's Thinking Machines is in talks to raise $1b+ at a $40b+ valuation. She noted this is below the $50b+ price sought last fall yet still an impressive multiple given hundreds of millions in annual revenue. Amir Efrati added that the lab is closing in on financing at around $40b, lower than desired but high for a young lab relative to its revenue. Jessica Lessin retweeted the post.
