Burhan Azeem Critiques Existing AI Regulation Approach

Burhan Azeem, Cambridge vice mayor and founder of Abundant Housing MA who is running for Massachusetts state senate to represent Medford, Somerville, Winchester and Cambridge, posted on X that existing AI regulation amounts to audit requirements passed when politicians do not know what to do. He added that the field is new and politicians avoid looking silly but said he no longer has that problem. Azeem stated he wants to raise the level of policy discourse and invited direct messages from people who want to participate.
