    TLDR

Robert Scobleizer posted about receiving an extended explanation of theoretical machine learning during a party. The researcher studying how neural networks learn identified neuron movement inside large parameter LLMs as the most exciting recent development. Scobleizer also referenced remarks from the founder of CorticalLabs on the human neu... The statements appear in his account of the discussion and are presented as information shared by the other attendees.

@ScobleizerSpent a long time at the party tonight getting a college level course in AI from a guy doing theoretical machine learning. Basically is studying how neural networks learn. He told me the most exciting thing lately is that the neurons move in large parameter LLMs. The founder of @CorticalLabs told me that the human neurons move sometimes quite a distance to learn something new. This was an emergent property in the very largest LLMs. What does this mean? They are learning faster. Oh then we talked about the doomsday scenario. I told him that AI knew all about the Holocaust. It could decide to do that to us in some dystopian future. And are in a race to figure out how to encourage the AI to stay nice to us even as it becomes far more intelligent than we are.
